Dreamer - n. Someone who’s mind knows no limits. They can stare off into space for hours on end if someone let them, just imagining the impossible, or everyday things. They will be the future of our world.
Doer - n. Someone who gets stuff done. Obviously.
A Dreamer + A Doer - v. bridging the gap between where you’re at and where you want to go.
A dreamer + a doer was started by Brooke Winings, Chief Dreamer + Doer as a means to come alongside other equally driven women who are on a mission to run successful businesses doing what they’re great at and ultimately doing more of what they love!
Founded in 2017, A Dreamer + A Doer started the way so many businesses do...one gal hustlin' hard while she’s still workin' that 40 (more like 50) hour corporate workweek. Tired of feeling like I was missing out on being truly present with my three boys as they were getting older (I see you boy mama's out there doing ALL the sports and ALL the carpooling...and probably most of you girl mama's too). I wasn't even really sure if I was cut out for running a business. I only ever knew 17 years of structure, management, and going into the office. What did I even have to offer to the world of small business and entrepreneurship...? INSERT self-doubt and a lot of fear.
Fast forward almost a year later, I got brave enough to speak into existence my dream of leaving a cush office and a stable paycheck behind for the unknown.
But in that year what I discovered is in that corporate structure and management I also knew people, process, and how to develop and implement projects from start to finish. INSERT light-bulb moment…I was already equipped with most everything I needed to be successful ~ and the rest I knew I could learn or ask for help with along the way.
A Dreamer + A Doer was officially launched as a full time consulting business in August of 2018. It has taken on a minimum of 4 different lifeforms since then - of which I used to hide the details of and/or find myself apologizing for. And then somewhere over the course of the last year or so I came to terms with a few things that I’ve decided I’m no longer apologizing for and/or settling for any less than:
- I am a multi-passionate dreamer AND a recovering perfectionist doer.
- Life is not meant to be done alone…my energy {and accountability} is sustained by being a part of a team and lots of QT across the table with other heart-centered professional women.
- My purpose is to serve the person I used to be…the person I was 25 years ago, 10 years ago, or 10 days ago.
A Dreamer + A Doer is up to some really fun things for 2023 and we’re so grateful to have you in our corner
To all of my other equally right-brained and left-brained friends with all of the big ideas and never-ending to-do lists…I see you ~ you’re brave and you are doing amazing things!
